Chocolate Chip Cookie Squares

Tired of Chocolate chip cookies (as if) and looking for something new? Well here they are - a cross between cookies and squares with a chocolate glaze.
Ingredients
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ⅛ tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cream together the butter and brown sugar.
  3. Then add the egg and vanilla to the mixture.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
  6. Mix in ½ cup of the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the mixture into an 8 x 8 baking pan.
  8. Bake 30 minutes for chewy squares or 35 minutes for crunchy squares.
  9. While still warm spread ½ cup chocolate chips on top.
  10. When the chocolate is melted, spread it smooth on the top.
  11. Cut into squares and enjoy!
